Blog Entry 5

The United States has spent a lot of the last hundred years working to advance their technology. From the first radio in the late 1800s to the development of weapons during the numerous wars our country fought for to the iphone 5 we see around the country today. Today when you go to the grocery store you have the ability to check yourself out with a machine instead of having to pile everything up for someone else to check you out. The need for checkers has gone down and it has caused humans to be more dependent on themselves and technology. It’s the same thing when you go to the airport. Now you can check in online up from 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight and just print out your boarding pass or it send it to your smart phone. There are machines are the airport to check in your luggage in of you decide to do so. And when you go through security they use machines to check your bags and your body. Soon I’m sure the airport will be coming up with new ways to cut down on human to human interaction. By doing this the problem comes up with people being able to make money to support their families and as we look around we can see that when someone goes to a friend’s house they are more likely to text or call on their phone to say they are there then to ring the doorbell. Using machines to communicate and take over jobs is going to lead to less human interaction and less social activities.
