Blog Entry 7

I do agree with the argument being shown in this proposal. I believe that as a student we should be allowed an option in how we intake our knowledge. I know from the last semester and the start of this semester it is really nice to be able to have my books accessible from my laptop. It’s really helpful because when I have three classes in one day then I can just grab my laptop and have all my books and all the work for my classes all in one place without having to carry a bunch of books that are heavy and end up causing me back damage in the long run.
I think it would help to add more about how having books online or on a tablet would allow students to take notes on their reading easier. In my Economics class I can highlight sentences and then it takes my highlighted words from that section of the reading and puts it all on one page that allows you to easily study for your upcoming homework, quizzes, or tests. It’s really convenient and a lot easier that high lighting in a book and having to go back and write out your notes on a piece of paper that you could likely lose. When you could just have all your notes on your laptop. Also another big thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that technology has a downfall. It cannot be reliable. We are constantly power outages, Wi-Fi connection problems, and you always have to charge your electronics where as print books can be read with not power, you call always read a book by candle light!
The resistant audience is probably the students who like their books to be print because it’s easier for them and the school officials who don’t want to spend the time and energy to change the way our book system is working currently.  I believe that the writer does a good job of taking into consideration what other people would prefer by saying that it would be helpful to give students the option of electronic books or print books. The writer to a lot of consideration into writing their proposal and did a good job explain how to make everyone happy while keeping our university as green as possible.
I think the write did an okay job with using ethos. The writer stated who was saying what but I was taught to state the person and explain why they are credible. Which I believe would of made this proposal even better.
I believe this is a good example for our class because it is clearly stating what we need to do and how we can change things at our university and the statistics and facts prove a lot and help to make this paper credible. The writer uses statistics such a the cost of books and supplies to prove the point of how we could lower costs for students as well as the writers own experience is class of how helpful it was for a book to be online and cost 50 dollars instead of over 100.
